Q: Since this is the first online edition of HOT JOE, can we ask how you like your coffee or tea?

I like my coffee black and strong. The bolder and richer the flavor, the better! For now.

Q: How do you like reading your HOT JOE?

I like reading HOT JOE first thing in the morning, before sorting through my emails. It's always nice to start the day with fresh insights and a brand-new perspective on latest technologies and solutions!

Q: How would you define a Fearless Leader?

A Fearless Leader is someone who never settles for the ordinary.

He constantly looks to do more and be better by venturing beyond man-made limitations, empowering his colleagues, and devoting himself to servant leadership.

Q: What keeps you up at night?

My targets and goals at work generally keep me up at night. But I find that praying helps me keep a positive outlook and gives me the strength I need to power through.

Q: How do you stay motivated?

Three F's keep me motivated—faith, family and future.

Nothing inspires me more than knowing that I am fulfilling God's purpose in my life, honoring Him in my workplace as a responsible steward of the company's resources, and in the process securing the best possible future for my family.

Mitch Locsin

FVP & Head of PLDT SME Nation

Q: Since this is the first online edition of HOT JOE, can we ask how you like your coffee or tea?

I love my coffee strong. I take 4-5 cups a day, black with one sugar will do!

Q: How do you like reading your HOT JOE?
I like reading HOT JOE while in the car or right after lunch breaks with my cup of coffee!

Q: How would you define a Fearless Leader?

A Fearless Leader is someone who takes risks, but calculated risk knowing all outcomes with options on moving forward. A Fearless Leader is strong, but leads through inspiration.

Q: What keeps you up at night?
Numbers! Churn! Anything that hinders my goals at work is what keeps me up at night.

Q: How do you stay motivated?
Prayers. Praying to the Lord keeps me calm and motivated. Knowing He is always there keeps me moving.

Jojo Gendrano

PLDT VP & Head of Enterprise Core Business Solutions

Q: Since this is the first online edition of HOT JOE, can we ask how you like your coffee or tea?

I like my coffee black and in abundance.

Q: How do you like reading the issue so far?

The best way for me is on mobile, right before scanning my LinkedIn feed—usually once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Q: How would you define a Fearless Leader?

A Fearless Leader constantly challenges the status quo and helps influence the organization to constantly test their boundaries—acting and leading with conviction. Also, a Fearless Leader learns to acknowledge fear and doubt, and yet strives to channel that into positive reinforcement and action.

Q: What keeps you up at night?
Literally, my son. But generally, a lack of preparedness builds anxiety for me. On overall professional worries, it’s the usual “Am I doing a great job?” reflections.

Q: How do you stay motivated?
Providing for my family and aiming to give them the best lives possible. We have a generational mantra, passed down from my great grandfather to my grandfather to my father to me, that we should significantly improve with each generation.

Nico Alcoseba

VP and Head for Disruptive Business Group

Q: Since this is the first online edition of HOT JOE, can we ask how you like your coffee or tea?

I prefer drinking iced coffee with coco sugar.

Q: How do you like reading the issue so far?

The best way I like reading HOT JOE online is right before the start of the day’s “busy-ness”.

Q: How would you define a Fearless Leader?

A Fearless Leader is someone who gets comfortable with discomfort, is energized by the unknown, and commits to consistency. Being energized by the unknown is critical today because we work and live in a V.U.C.A. world—an environment that’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Being Fearless is seeing the unknown for its limitless potential rather than its unpredictable consequences.

Q: What keeps you up at night?

What keeps me up at night is how to build more fearless leaders in our organization

Q: How do you stay motivated?

By going back to my why. My work has never been just a day-to-day job to be done for me. It was, is, and will always be about making an impact on the organization and adding value to others—to my team and to the wider Enterprise & ePLDT family.

John Gonzales

I like my coffee plain black—no sugar, no cream—and it must be decaffeinated.

Q: How do you like reading the issue so far?

The best way I like reading HOT JOE is after work when I’ve cleaned up my email.

Q: How would you define a Fearless Leader?

A Fearless Leader is someone who is not afraid to take on bigger and additional roles and responsibilities. Someone who is willing to take risks but not to the extent of being careless. Someone who is bold but not arrogant and rude. One who does not pretend that he/she knows everything, thus, is not afraid to ask questions and consult his/her troops if and when necessary.

Q: What keeps you up at night?

Customer escalation keeps me up at night because I know that there is one client who isn’t happy, thus, needs to be addressed the soonest. The adrenaline rush keeps my mind awake, because I know that I need to assure the customer that help is on the way.

Q: How do you stay motivated?

Our team keeps me motivated and inspired because of their passion for the job, even in the midst of the challenges that confront us. Of course, my family and my parents keep me motivated as well, because whatever achievement I have is in honor of their hard work and sacrifice.
